Rosary builds an Igloo!

The children at the Rosary BarBar during our Disney’s Frozen topic have asked to build a house for Olaf!

We have been collecting four pint milk cartons to build a life size igloo. The staff have been supporting the children as they construct Olafs house. The children have built the base of the igloo so far.

Rosary: Dance & Wiggle week for charity

The preschool and after school club children at the Rosary have taken part in Happy day’s dance and wiggle week to raise money for their charity. The children, with help from the staff, organised a dance performance for their parents. The children learnt a dance routine to a remix of music, they also created costumes, a DJ booth and a backdrop for their dance show.

The after school club also joined in the fun and choreographed their own dance routine and performed it in front of their parents. The children raised over £400! So far.

Alice in Wonderland Tea Party!

The children have been taking part in an Alice in wonderland topic over the last three weeks. The children turned our outside play area into a wonderland and held a tea party, where we all came in fancy dress.

Eylog

Eylog is a secure online and mobile integrated application for us to easily capture and securely manage the learning journey of the children. Parents are able to view their child’s learning journey online using their phone, laptop etc. Only staff and the child’s parent will be able to access this using their own unique login credentials. Parents can securely login with their own password and access their child’s learning journey at the click of a button and are able to view  observations, photo’s and video’s recorded at the nursery as soon as they become part of the learning journey.

Parents can also add comments and interact with their child’s key worker in their own time about these observations. EyLog also makes it possible for parents to contribute their observations at home if they wish, making the learning journey even more comprehensive and enabling a 360 degree view of their child’s development in its early years. The children learning journey is able to be printed off for parents to keep at any time.

UPDATE: So far we’ve raised over £300 – we’ve beaten our initial target, but if you’re reading this and haven’t sponsored yet, please consider sponsoring us via the website: raceforlifesponsorme.org/barbar-nursery.

BarBar Nursery have entered a team into the local Cancer Research Race for Life, at Cheltenham racecourse on Sunday 7th July.

We will be running, jogging and walking the 5K in memory of lost friends and recovering friends and family members, who have suffered from this dreadful disease. Sandra will be leading the team including Emma C, Dee, Nicole, Akira, Tracy, Yasmin, Pippa, Rosa and Johanna.

The children at Rosary also held their own Race for Life event, collecting over £250 in sponsorship.

Many thanks to Stroud Life Online for their article on our run!
